Memorial Service in Honor of John F. Kennedy

The Omaha Irish Cultural Center (OICC) is holding a memorial service in remembrance of President John F. Kennedy on November 22, 2013 at noon at Memorial Park in Omaha, Nebraska.

OICC spokesperson James P. Cavanaugh said “We are proud to be part of this effort honoring the memory of President Kennedy.  His legacy of courage, eloquence and grace are an inspiration to all Americans and freedom loving people everywhere.  We are honored to claim President Kennedy as one of our own. We invite all interested individuals and groups to join us in remembering President Kennedy and honoring the sacrifice he made in serving his country.”

The memorial service will commence at noon with a moment of silent remembrance followed by a presentation of the colors and a salute to President Kennedy’s service by local veterans and remarks by local Irish American leaders, a benediction by Revered George Sullivan S.J., and concluding with TAPS.
